Mega Millions jackpot is $830 million lottery
The Mega Millions jackpot for Tuesday night's drawing is $830 million the third largest in lottery game history. It was up $20 million in the hour leading up to the draw.
Tonight's Mega Millions lottery will have the second largest jackpot for the lottery game at an estimated $1.28 million if there is a winner.
The jackpot cash value sits at $487.9 million – which is certainly quite a few Benjamins. Mega Millions of tickets are sold for $2 each.
So far in 2022, four Mega Millions jackpots have been won, in California, New York, Minnesota and Tennessee.
The highest jackpot ever was $426 million, won by Kristen Wellenstein on Jan. 28 with a ticket purchased in Woodland Hills.
The high-balling jackpot has been running since April, and as of Friday, four ticket holders won at least $1 million.
Friday's drawing drew widespread interest across the country after the grand prize surpassed $1 billion this week for the third time in the game's 20-year history.
Some are doing everything they can to increase their chances of winning, including Raging Can's founder and CEO, Todd Graves,
who shared on Twitter Monday that he's buying 50,000 Mega Millions tickets one for each employee at the fast-food chain.
The jackpot is the third largest jackpot prize in the game's history and the fourth largest in US lottery history. Tuesday's drawing offers an estimated cash value of $487.9 million.
If there is no jackpot winner for tonight's Mega Millions drawing, the jackpot prize for the Friday, July 29 drawing will be an estimated $1.025 million.
