Meta’s next VR headset will launch

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has publicly pinned down a launch window for the company's next big VR headset.

In an interview on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Zuckerberg said the device is coming at the Matter Connect conference in October.

The new headset has some key features - notably the ability to track facial expressions and represent them in a virtual avatar.

He again explained that his focus is on using VR as the ultimate expression of technology

that connect people—for example, by facilitating eye contact in VR.

When you're on a video call, you don't actually feel like you're with that person.

what virtual reality unlocks is that it really makes your brain believe you're there," he said.

These features are consistent with previous disclosures and reports about Project Cambria,

A VR headset project Zuckerberg briefly discussed in last year's Connection.
