Microsoft flags TikTok flaw

Microsoft has revealed a vulnerability in TikTok

that could give hackers access to user accounts, with the

Redmond-based tech giant's 365 Defender research team credited with finding the

bug Microsoft says could allow bad actors to take over accounts with a single click.

The Redmond-based tech giant's 365 Defender research team is credited with the discovery

TikTok has two different versions of its Android app, one for East and Southeast Asia and the

other for the rest of the world. Microsoft said the bug was present in both versions of the app.

By performing a vulnerability assessment of TikTok, we determined that issues

were affecting both flavors of the app for Android, which have more than 1.5 billion installations through the Google Play Store.
