Samsung Z Fold 3 durability one year

Foldable phones are still kind of awkward, unproven devices. But for the last three generations.

Samsung has made big strides with its designs, paving the way for innovative alternatives to the usual glass brick.

When you combine that with sales of nearly 10 million devices last year, it looks like Samsung's foldable are finally starting to break into the mainstream.

But despite several improvements over the years, there is one aspect of Samsung's foldable that still needs a lot of work.

It seemed like the phone had to be kept in a separate room, lest some amount of spit or drool would ruin the device.

And it wasn't just something I wanted to do, which drew me to the Z Fold 3 and its IPX8 rating.

If a phone can withstand being submerged in water for up to 30 minutes at a depth of five feet, it can handle anything a child can throw at it.

The phone has been dropped more than a handful of times with no impact.
