Reports of shooting at Six Flags Great America in Gurney

Two people were hospitalized Sunday after a shooting in the front entrance parking lot of Six Flags Great America in Gurnee.

Several ambulances were called to the scene. The shots came from a single vehicle in the parking lot.

The car immediately drove away, according to a statement from Six Flags.

Videos circulating on social media showed park passengers hiding where they were in line.

Two people were taken to the hospital for evaluation and a third refused treatment.

The shooting happened when the park was closed. Witnesses say they saw other people running to the park after the shooting.

Six Flags is an amusement park located at 1 Great America Parkway in Gurney.

Park visitors go through thorough screening, including bag checks and passing through metal detectors, before entering the park.

This is the second shooting in a public place where families gather, following last month's Highland Park Parade mass shooting.
